ROOTS & ROUTES INTERNATIONAL is a project in ten European countries (Hungary, Spain, Germany, Greece, The Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, France, Finland, UK) and is a partnership between cultural, welfare, and youth organisations. ROOTS & ROUTES scouts, inspires and coaches young talented musicians, dancers and media makers with diverse cultural roots and offers the talents new routes towards the professional circuit like established stages, media institutions, and art schools.

In association with cultural, welfare and youth organisations ROOTS&ROUTES seeks out and nurtures young media, music and dance talents that do not naturally find the paths that lead to the professional world. They get the opportunity to hone their skills during days of intensive training under the guidance of one or more professionals, followed by a performance on an established festival or stage. From auditions to performances, the R&R media talents (young writers and film-makers) are coached by media professionals as they film reports to be aired by ROOTS&ROUTES TV and others.

Multicultural media talents thus enjoy training on the job. The performances and regional television programmes contribute to promoting the ROOTS&ROUTES philosophy. In addition, the richness of cultural traditions is connected with the multicultural future of modern day society. Proven talents get the possibility to participate in the ROOTS & ROUTES AFTERTIME TRAJECT, where they will be nurtured and assisted in follow-up projects in the music, dance and media sectors in association with production companies and performance venues.
